What is Narrowband Satellite IoT?

Narrowband satellite IoT uses L-Band frequencies and low-power networks to transmit small data packets from simple devices. Unlike broadband satellite that requires powered terminals and clear sky views, narrowband devices operate for years on battery power, cost a fraction of broadband equipment, and work through partial obstructions.

This makes satellite IoT practical for applications that need to collect data from locations with no mobile coverage, no power infrastructure, and infrequent site access. Thousands of sensors across a vast operational area become economically viable when each device costs under $100 and data transmission costs cents per message.
