Connectivity Products

The Right Technology for Every Location

We're technology agnostic. Our product portfolio spans satellite constellations, terrestrial networks, and IoT platforms—because the best connectivity is the one engineered for where you operate.

Multi-Path, Multi-Orbit Approach

No single technology delivers optimal connectivity for every location and use case. LEO satellites excel at low latency but struggle with terrain obstructions. GEO satellites provide reliable coverage but add latency. Terrestrial networks offer the best performance but limited reach. Narrowband IoT costs little but carries only small data.

Orion's approach combines these technologies into unified solutions. We select the right mix based on your specific location, requirements, and constraints—then integrate them into a seamless connectivity experience.

Satellite Connectivity

Three orbital layers provide different performance characteristics. Most solutions combine multiple orbits for resilience and optimal performance.

LEO — Low Earth OrbitSatellites at 500-1,200km altitude delivering low latency (20-50ms) and high throughput. Ideal for real-time applications, video conferencing, and cloud-based operations. Requires active tracking but offers performance approaching terrestrial networks.Latency: 20-50ms round trip

Terrestrial Connectivity

Where available, terrestrial networks typically deliver the best performance. We integrate terrestrial options as primary or backup paths within multi-path solutions.

Terrestrial NetworksFibre, microwave, fixed wireless, and mobile networks for sites within reach of terrestrial infrastructure. Often used as primary path with satellite backup for OpsSure deployments.
  • LTE/5G Mobile — Private and carrier networks
  • Microwave — Point-to-point links
  • Fixed Wireless — Last-mile connectivity
  • Fibre — Where economically viable
MEO — Medium Earth OrbitSatellites at 8,000-20,000km altitude balancing latency and coverage. Enterprise-grade with contractual SLAs. Dedicated capacity ensures consistent performance regardless of consumer demand.
  • Latency: 100-150ms round trip
  • Throughput: Dedicated Gbps capacity
  • Coverage: Regional beams
  • Products: O3b mPOWER
